Now, as a Sherlock Holmes fan, I'm required by law to point out that the story of this film isn't from the pen of Arthur Conan Doyle, the famous detective's creator. But it's still a great film: When a simple music box, sold at an auction, leads to murder, Holmes must figure out why. The clues pile up into a mystery that could well threaten all England unless Holmes's wits can overcome one of his wiliest opponents.
The film also features Nigel Bruce as the most bumbling Doctor Watson yet put to screen. Bruce in infamous among Holmes fans for his comic relief portrayal of the character, but at least he never turned to Holmes and said, "Nobody tosses a member of the British Medical Association."
The film is, as always, available in several downloadable sizes, the largest being a 4.1 GB MPEG2, the smallest being a streamable 82.9 MPEG4 (which can also be downloaded). Archive.org is reserving no rights on this download, which means that once you download a copy, it's yours, you own it, and you can do with it whatever you please.
Oh, and for those of you who need a "the game's afoot" reference in any Sherlock Holmes article, that was it.
Edit: Yes, I am an idiot. Thanks to Bob (see below), for pointing out that it's in fact "music boxes" in this picture; match boxes were from "Sherlock Holmes in Washington," a different Rathbone film.
Bill's been using Macs since the late 80s. When he's not making smartass remarks to amuse Kirk Hiner, he enjoys fighting for the user.

I believe that’s Music Box, not Match Box.
