Free Movie Download: Reefer Madness
And while I love the Prelinger archives, with its collection of school filmstrips from the 50s ("Are You Popular?"), the part of the site that'll really make your jaw drop is the Feature Film collection.
These are works that were commercially released at the time, but have since fallen into the public domain. Further, Archive.org typically reserve little to no rights on the majority of the stuff they make available, so you can do whatever you please with it! Wild, huh?
I'll be detailing some of the downloads available, but of course, you don't have to wait for me: head on over and start rustling around. There's a lot of great stuff over there, including some noir classics, and even the Three Stooges!
But our first selection has to be one of the most infamous films of all time: Reefer Madness (originally released as Tell Your Children).

Now, I'm going to cop out here and tell you that despite the fact that I was a theatre major and went to grad school, I never smoked pot. This is because I am a big nerd. However, even I am not as big a nerd as the kids in this film, who look like they stepped out of an Archie comic, until they start smoking the Vile Weed and become as violent and jittery as meth addicts. And of course, you can tell that their souls are being destroyed because they all love... jazz! Duh duh duhhhhhhhhhn!
"So bad, it's good?" Now you can decide for yourself! The film is available in several download sizes: a 370 MB MPEG1; two streamable files (which you can also download), one at 256 Kb and another at 64 Kb; and for those who want as high a quality as possible (a relative term, given the age of some of these films): a 2.7 GB MPEG2.
And remember, as arcade games always told you after lost: WINNERS DON'T USE DRUGS!
