EchoFX Announces Support For Mac OS X Leopard

3587 EchoFX has announced the immediate availability of USBVision For Mac OS X 1.3.0 and VideoGlide for Mac OS X 1.3.0 -software support for USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 video digitizing devices from Belkin, Dazzle, KWorld, Pinnacle, Plextor, XLR8 and many others.

The new versions fully support Mac OS X Leopard. In addition, the software supports full frame resolution in PAL systems when using USB 2.0 devices, and it supports the French and Brazilian color standards for all devices. New features include timed-interval snapshots and time-lapse recording.

USBVision For Mac OS X 1.3.0 and VideoGlide For Mac OS X 1.3.0 are $29.95 for new customers. Existing USBVision or VideoGlide customers may upgrade to the new software free of charge.

USBVision And VideoGlide Overview

The USBVision software offers Mac OS X support for a wide range of USB 1.1 devices including Belkin VideoBus and VideoBus II, Global Village VideoFX, Hauppauge USBLive, iRez USB Live and CapSure USB, Dazzle DVC-50 and DVC-80, Pinnacle StudioLINX, XLR8 InterView and many others -including those originally sold as "PC-only". The USBVision software also supports s-video capturing on some TV tuner devices including Hauppage WinTV and Pinnacle Studio PCTV.

The VideoGlide software offers Mac OS X support for a wide range of USB 2.0 devices including the KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0, LinXcel Video Grabber, LG Electronics GSA-5169D DVD-RW, Pinnacle Dazzle DVC-90 and DVC-100, Plextor ConvertX PX-AV100U and PX-AV200U, VideoHome GrabBeeX and many others. The VideoGlide software also supports s-video capturing on some TV tuner devices including Gadmei UTV310, Hauppauge WinTV-USB2, Leadtek WinFast USB2 and ZEB - TV2005E, MSI VOX USB 2.0 Analog TV and Plextor PX-TV200U.

The software allows the display and capture of video from any of the supported devices, either via the provided capture application, or via a variety of third-party applications. The included software features hardware accelerated full-screen playback, duration-based recording, time-lapse recording and AppleScript support. Device specific and external audio sources, including the built-in microphone port of the Macintosh, or a separate USB microphone, are supported.

Also, with sufficient USB bandwidth, the software will allow multiple video capture devices to run simultaneously on one computer. Multiple devices can be used with Ben Bird's SecuritySpy and SubRosaSoft's HomeGuardian security packages allowing the monitoring of many different video sources. Multiple devices can also be used with video broadcast packages such as Vara Software's Wirecast, and webcam packages such as Econ Technologies' ImageCaster, allowing multiple video sources to be uploaded to the Internet from a single computer.
