Don’t Panic!

734 In this week's Less Tangible, Marc Zeedar says:

For years I've hated that horrible "do-di-do" sound that plays at the end of Intel commercials. You
know, that "Intel Inside" music. I fast forward over it, mute it, or even plug my ears so I don't
have to hear it. It's so insipid and ubiquitous and represents everything that's not the Macintosh.
But now it appears that "Intel Inside" could become a reality for Mac users.


"The truth is that the writing has been on the wall for a long time. There's just no way the PowerPC
can compete with Intel, not in the long haul. Even if it is a better design, that doesn't help if
they run at a radically reduced speed and there aren't enough chips manufactured for Apple to sell."
