2421 Brandon Kelly has released freeware Dock Dividers for both Bottom (horizontal) and Side (vertical) positioned Docks.

To install Dock Dividers, simply drag the dividers into your dock as if they were normal applications. Then tuck away the Dock Dividers folder anywhere on your Macintosh HD.
