Creaceed announces Morph Age Pro 4.0, ships Hydra 1.0

1501 Creaceed, the company behind Morph Age and Magnet for Mac OS X, ships Hydra 1.0 for easily creating HDR photographs on Mac and announces major upgrade to Morph Age with new version Pro 4.0.

Hydra is a software that gives human eye perception to photographs by creating high dynamic range (HDR) images from a series of regular photographs, either from DSLRs or traditional point-and-shoot cameras. No tripod. The images that Hydra uses are not required to be taken with a tripod, as it is usually the case with HDR softwares. Hydra uses the same warping algorithm as Morph Age, which permits the alignment of images with offsets beyond a few pixels. This is a unique feature that means you can take photos anywhere without a tripod to later blend them in Hydra. This will change the way of making HDRs.

Hydra uses an advanced image processing pipeline that first aligns the various images with a non-linear warping algorithm (inherited from Morph Age) and then blends them in a smart way to preserve the interesting inputs of each image. This method has been entirely implemented on the GPU to provide interactive previewing, thanks to core Mac OS X technologies. This allows to accurately tune all parameters (matching, blending) in real-time while observing the changing result until you are satisfied, and then render the full resolution image (resolutions above 10 Megapixels supported).

Morph Age is the reference application for morphing/warping images and movies on Mac OS X, such as faces, and save the result to a QuickTime movie. Morph Age receives an important update with many new features such as Motion and Blending curves editing, Smart Fit which enables to derive the position of all curves from moving just a subset of them (productivity tool), motion tracking to track curves in movies, face detection to automatically insert a set of face curve in an image.

Morph Age is now a product range with two versions, Regular and Pro version. The regular version gets all new features but works only with still images while the Pro version also has support for movie inputs and frame accurate keyframing.

Hydra 1.0 is available starting today. It requires any Mac running Mac OS X Leopard and with at least 64 MB of video memory.

A special introductory price of $39.95 is proposed until the end of January 2008 instead of its regular price of $59.95 after January 31st 2008. Morph Age 4.0 Beta and Morph Age Pro 4.0 Beta can be downloaded from our website and are available at the price of $59.95 and $149.95 respectively.

System requirements:
It requires any Mac running Mac OS X Leopard and with at least 64 MB of video memory. Final versions will be made available next month. Morph Age 4.0 is a free upgrade for existing Morph Age 3.x customers, upgrade from v3.x to Pro v4.x is $39.95.

Creaceed is part of Macworld'08 in San Francisco this January, 14-18th, booth W-4336 (Moscone West), where its latest software advances, including Hydra, will be presented to customers and to the press.
