Looking for an unusual stocking stuffer for a computer-user on your Christmas list? Check out the steel cord holder from the folks who make the steelpad high-performance mousepads that I reviewed here recently.
However, make sure that the stocking to be stuffed has a reinforced toe, because this little item is surprisingly heavy for its size -- by design. Only 1 5/8" in diameter, it weighs a whopping 7.1 ounces. Unlike the steelpad mouse pads, which are made from either aluminum or plastic, the steel cord holder actually is a machined from a solid billet of Danish stainless steel.

The concept is simple; you fasten your mouse cord into the machined cord groove on the steel cord holder using the thumbscrew provided, and the hefty weight of the cord holder will make the cord stay where you put it, out of the way.
