1717 Camino 1.6 Alpha 1 is a preview release of what will become Camino 1.6. Camino 1.6 Alpha 1 may be unstable and may not be suitable for day-to-day use. Download Camino 1.5.4 if you wish to use the stable version of Camino.

Known Issues:
• Some users have experienced a situation where pages would appear not to load after clicking on a link. In this case, resizing the browser window may allow the page to display properly.

• Version 2.1 of the Flip4Mac (F4M) plug-in for displaying Windows Media content causes major rendering issues in Camino. The Flip4Mac team will fix this problem in a future release of the plug-in.

Note: Before using this alpha version of Camino, create a backup copy of your profile folder (~/Library/Application Support/Camino/).

Major New Features inCamino 1.6 Alpha 1

The following major features have been added to Camino 1.6 Alpha 1 and will be in Camino 1.6 when it is released. The full release notes are also available.

Note: Some of these features are not yet completely implemented.

Tab Bar Improvements:

• The tab bar is now scrollable.


• When more tabs are open than can be displayed in the tab bar, right and left scroll arrows appear.


• As part of this change, the tab overflow menu has been replaced by a menu displaying all open tabs in the current window.

AppleScript Support:

• It is now possible to add, open, and delete bookmarks via AppleScript.


• Additionally, AppleScripts can now refer to individual tabs and windows. Finally, Camino now supports custom toolbar items written in AppleScript. Please see our AppleScript guide for more information.

Software Update:
• Camino now checks for new releases automatically.
