Press release edited by Applelinks senior editor Kirk Hiner
Feral Interactive takes care of two things this afternoon. First, they announced that the Ford Racing 2 demo is now available for download. Second, by using the headline "Boy Racers Rejoice" they allay my belief that the Queen lyric "Get a grip on my boy racer rollbar" from "I'm In Love With My Car" is actually an innuendo for...never mind.
The Ford Racing 2 demo is a streamlined 40 MB, and is available now at Feral's website. Why would you want such a thing? Well, in the demo, you get to take out two of Ford's finest for a test-drive, each with its very own track. Get your highway highs on Route 50 in the Mustang GT concept car. Then, draw all the heat you need racing through volcanic landscapes and lava flows in an F-150 Fx4 off-roader. That ought to keep you petrol-heads occupied until the full game hits the streets next month.
Petrol heads? Hey, wait a minute...are they allowed to drive these gas guzzling Fords over in England? I thought they only drove these things (which I would, too, if they were available in the States).
The demo has two challenges from the Ford Challenge mode:
Concept Car:
- Car: Mustang GT
- Track: Route 50
- Race Format: Standard
Off Road:
- Car: F-150 FX4
- Track: Volcano
- Race Format: Elimination
- Single Player mode only
- Force Feedback enabled
The demo installs in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish (no read me). For more information, visit Feral's website.
