Bandwidth Bonanza - New on MacOpinion

1111 In his latest Less Tangible on MacOpinion, Marc Zeedar says:

There's no question that today's Internet is not ready for the video mass market. The bandwidth is just not there. But today's Internet is not tomorrow's Internet. When I first launched my graphic design studio I remember paying $350 for one of those "blazing fast" new 33.3 baud modems. And people today think Edge is slow? Gimme a break!

Today's "broadband" is to dial-up as tomorrow's broadband is to today's broadband.




But that future will only arrive if we push the limits of today's broadband. That's the "going into debt" metaphor.

We need more people to start using the bandwidth. As more and more people begin switching to VOIP phone service, using iChat video conferencing, downloading movies, and so on, the Internet providers will be pushed into expanding the bandwidth.
