1034 Independent software developer Marco De Girolamo announces the release of BabelMenu 1.0 for iPhone and iPod touch devices. When the usual dictionaries do not help, a new application for iPhone perfect for travellers. If you have ever happened to eat at a restaurant abroad and look doubtfully at the menu without knowing what you are about to order, you can now get a personal food assistant, just a click away.

The current database includes 1500 international dishes, classified in 19 categories, translated in 4 languages, completed with ingredients, description and a photo. The interface is composed by 3 research Tabs, included a full-text index enabled on the 4 dictionaries. It has been also implemented with filters to include or exclude, vegetarian and spicy dishes, high in cholesterol or in sugar levels. All with just a finger touch. The information is always available as flags on the description card. The search is fast and simple: just type only a part of the word to search and the system will automatically select all the dishes containing the fixed parameters.

Language Support:
BabelMenu is localized in 4 languages: US English, Italian, French and Spanish. The database will shortly be updated adding new dishes and new languages.
