Angela Ahrendts to Join Apple as Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores
Apple has announced that Angela Ahrendts, CEO of Burberry, will be joining Apple in a newly created position, as a senior vice president and member of our executive team, reporting to CEO Tim Cook.
Ms. Ahrendts will have oversight of the strategic direction, expansion and operation of both Apple retail and online stores, which have redefined the shopping experience for hundreds of millions of customers around the world. Apple retail stores set the standard for customer service with innovative features like the Genius Bar, Personal Setup and One to One personal training to help customers get the most out of their Apple products.

Politico's Michelle Quinn says two years after the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, his widow, Laurene Powell Jobs, is stepping more visibly onto the national political stage — and generating buzz in Washington, D.C., about her future.
Ms. Quinn notes that Ms. Jobs, 49, grew up in New Jersey and worked in investment banking before earning her M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she met Steve Jobs, when he came to the school to speak. The couple have three children.
As an activist frequently seen in Washington, Ms. Jobs backed the president’s stance in the ongoing budget battle in Washington in a video posted on the website of Ozy, the online magazine she co-founded in September.
Ms. Quinn notes that Ms. Jobs’s deepening interest in national politics raises the question of what role she ultimately wants to play - Democratic fundraiser, activist or something more.
