Mac.Tuts+'s James Cull Notes that one of the major advantages Mac users enjoy is that thanks to their Intel architecture and some clever coding from boffins (Britspeak for developers, engineers, and such) at Apple (and other companies), they can run applications designed for both OS X and Windows. however he cautions that before you start jumping for joy, be aware that you cant simply download a Windows program, install it onto your Mac then fire it up. Theres a few technical issues to iron out first.

3D Printing Market to Triple by 2018 - Analyst
With Citi analyst Kenneth Wong releasing a bullish note projecting the market for 3D printing and related services to triple by 2018, Quantum International Corp. is eyeing big future profits for its investors in the 3D printing market.
The expiration of key patents in 2014 is an indicator that 3D printing is going to explode. 3D printers will soon cost less than a PC, and the challenge of learning how to model things in 3D will dissipate because users will have the ability to copy them using inexpensive, but effective 3D scanners. According to financial media outlet Benzinga, Wong says the printing and additive manufacturing market is nearing a point where much wider adoption will hit the consumer end market and affect upstream production applications.
Kenneth Wong is projecting the 3D printing market to be worth over $6 billion in the next five years, says Quantum CEO Robert Federowicz. This is an industry with unlimited growth and market potential we have every intention of tapping into.

Quartz Macintosh Moment columnist Christopher Mims observes that 3D printing is currently a diminutive industry, but says " just you wait," noting that Wall Street is starting to wake up to the potential of 3D printing, and citing Citi analyst Kenneth Wong released a bullish note on Monday projecting that the market for 3D printing and related services will triple by 2018.

The powerful 20.1 MP APS-C sized image sensor in the 3000 is the same size sensor found in most traditional DSLRs, and is the key to capturing crisp, highly-detailed still images and Full HD videos (1080/60i or 1080/24p). The large sensor also boosts sensitivity, grabbing more light and cutting image noise to produce better quality content in low-light conditions, where a smartphone or point-and-shoot camera typically struggles.
