Rumor Has It, Another Apple Tablet In The Works. More Like A Mac Than An iPhone
TechCrunch's MG Siegler says now that we've all seen the iPad and know just about everything about it that we possibly can, Apple may actually be hard at work on a second device, hastening to emphasize that this is a pure rumor that you should take with a grain of salt, and while it originated from a good source, it was a second-hand source, but this said tablet device would be bigger and much more like a Mac than an iPhone, with a screen maybe as big as the 15.4" one it currently uses in the middle MacBook Pro and running OS X 10.7 instead of the iPhone OS an to be released within the next year.
If there be any substance to this speculation, it would certainly make tablet computing a lot more attractive to those of us who do serious work on our Macs.

Nine Out Of 10 Premium-priced PCs Sold At US Retail Is A Mac
BetaNews's Joe Wilcox says that Windows 7 has done little to slow the Mac's sales trajectory during fourth quarter, and according to a source at one of the major market research firms, Apple's US retail unit share doubled from 5 percent to 10 percent for PCs selling between $500 and $1,000.
Even more startling, says Wilcox, Apple increased its unit share from 79 percent to 90 percent in the market for "premium" PCs, meaning those selling for more than $1,000,or stated another way: nine out of 10 premium PCs purchased from US retail brick-and-mortar stores or online sites (including major chains and Apple Store) during fourth quarter was a Mac.
The question remains as to whether Apple can really be effective taking its premium brand success to the market below $500, which the iPad will answer, starting in about 60 days.

iPad a Better Choice than a Netbook
Low End Mac's Kev Kitchens says:
Steve Jobs introduced Apple's newest innovation, the iPad, last week. Within a day, technology pundits began sharply criticizing the device for a variety of reasons.
While Apple hasn't made a flawless product, I believe the true reason behind the intense negativity stems from one simple fact: They don't understand the device and how it may very well revolutionize the field of mobile computing.

I'd Get An iPad if Apple Didn't Make It
So says The Walton Tribune's Stephen Milligan, elaborating that besides lack of sufficient funds to truly underwrite his tech-junkie wish list, he hates Apple, an irony in that he was writing the blog on a Mac, but still says he finds supposedly intuitive Apple operating systems to be designed for an intuitive process other than his, and has managed to avoid owning an iPod or iPhone or any other Apple gadgets because for him, "Apple is the enemy."
Not that he hasn't been tempted, and the iPad announcement is again testing his resolve:
"I don't need it. I can't afford it. But, blast it if I don t want one anyway."

Will Brits be able to get their mitts on the iPad sooner than they thought? Apple UK's website seems to suggest they will. The gadget may also be cheaper than expected too.
The site, updated late last week to incorporated pricing - stated, bizarrely, in US dollars - says: "Wi-Fi models shipping in late March. 3G models shipping in April."

DIGITIMES' Max Wang and Joseph Tsai say Acer will focus on pushing ultra-thin notebooks for 2010 and currently has no plans to jump on the bandwagon to launch a hardware device similar to Apple's new iPad, according to Acer Taiwan president Scott Lin, who also said he believes the iPad is unlikely to impact the notebook/netbook markets as the two products target completely different consumer groups.
