Courts Prohibit Night Work At Seven Apple Stores in France
A French language AFP report says that the High Court of Paris on Tuesday banned Apple employees being required to work nights in seven of its stores in France, it was learned from the CFTC and SUD.
The court "banned Apple Retail France employees from working between the hours of 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. local time under penalty of 50,000 euros per provisional infringement."
According to a Google machine translation of "La justice interdit le travail de nuit dans 7 Apple Store en France," "Apple was also ordered to pay the workers' union the 10,000 euros "as a provision on account of the damages and interest. "
"This decision is very good and reflects the desire of Justice to enforce the night work law" Eric Scherrer, CFTC trade employees, is cited commenting.
By French law, night work (after 9:00 p.m. ET until 6:00) is considered basically exceptional and must be justified by the need to ensure continuity of economic activity or social utility.

Ms. Chang cites recent IDC estimates that Windows RT tablets make up only 1.9-percent of the tablet market, forecasting that Windows RT will only grow to 2.7-percent market share by 2017. Simply put, consumers arent buying Windows RTs value proposition, IDC Research Director Tom Mainelli states in a release.
She suggests that Microsoft needs to push Windows RT into the gorgeous tablet operating system that it can actually be, and that there are a few obvious changes the company could make to help that happen.

Creating a Dedicated 5GHz AirPort Network
Macinstruct's Matt Cone notes that AirPort base stations released after 2009 are capable of operating over both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously. That means that when you connect a Mac, iPhone, or iPad to an AirPort's wireless network, it will automatically select and use one of the bands for the best speed, consistency, and range.
While normally, the choice is made for you automatically, and you'll probably never notice the difference, there may be cert
