Macbook Air Laptop Detailed Review - Think Thin, Learn From iPhone
bestlaptopsreviews.com's Christophe Catesson reports:
A year after announcing the iPhone, Apple presents its latest laptop: the MacBook Air, which they claim is the thinnest laptop in the world. Is the MacBook Air really the dream laptop for all travelers or does it conceal irreparable gaps?.....
This beautiful machine suffers from cruel limitations that other computers, sometimes lighter or less costly, do not have. In spite of the beautiful lines and user friendliness of the MacBook Air, it does not deliver the ultra portable promise as expected. The previous MacBook performs better, is more functional, and cheaper!

Microsoft Unwilling To Pay New Bid For Yahoo
CTV.ca reports:
Software giant Microsoft has walked away from its bid to buy Yahoo, saying the latest asking price of US$53 billion, or $37 per share, is too high.
The decision came after Saturday morning talks between Microsoft chief executive officer Steve Ballmer and Yahoo chief executive officer and co-founder Jerry Yang.

Lawyers, Money Needed For Psystar's Legal Battle
News.com's Tom Krazit says:

How much longer can Psystar get away with selling Open Computers?
Now that Psystar has satisfied any doubts that it's a real company making real products, the propriety of those products seems bound to be tested. In case you missed it, Psystar is currently selling Open Computers with Apple's Mac OS X Leopard preinstalled, in what appears to be a clear violation of Apple's software license agreement for that product.
There's a running joke about the number of consumers that actually read the licensing agreements that come along with new software. But these types of agreements have been upheld by several U.S. court rulings as valid contracts between a software maker and a customer, even if the customer didn't have a chance to read the licensing agreement until after they purchased the product...
The looming Psystar-Apple battle centers on the licensing agreement that Apple requires Leopard users to accept if they want to use the product....

Is Thunderbird A Better Email Than Apple's Mail?
NoodleMac's Ron McElfresh says:
It can't be supply and demand, but somehow or another the two most used applications on modern Macs, email and web browsers are mostly free. I use OS X's Mail. Mozilla's Thunderbird is very good, with many features Mac users need.
Thunderwho?
You don't hear much about Thunderbird these days. Maybe that's because Apple's Safari on Windows competes with Mozilla's Firefox, which makes money, while Thunderbird does not....
Despite being treated as the ugly stepchild by Mozilla, Thunderbird is a credible email application loaded with features.....
If you find Apple's Mail to be cumbersome and slow, check around for alternatives....

The Mac Night Owl: The Mac Versus PC Hardware Wars Continue
So I was hanging out chatting with David, a fellow New Yorker who owns the nearby UPS Store, about personal computers. He knows I use Macs, and Im aware that hes a Windows advocate. He started claiming, all over again, that his home PC cost a lot less than any comparable Mac. So, with few customers arriving to disturb our conversation, I took ahold of one of his transaction computers and ran the inevitable price comparison all over again.
