Two U-Hip Pop models are currently available, one for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, 3GS, ipod touch, touch 2G; while the other is made to accommodate the Blackberry Bold, Curve, Storm, and Tour smartphones.
The U-Hip Pop case's marquee features are its rugged belt clip and magnetic flap closure. The belt clip appears to be very strong — probably generous-gauge spring steel sheathed in stitched leather, and it snaps in place at the tip. The closure, with its a large wave-shaped flap area, snaps in place and is very sturdy.
Although soft leather, the case gives me an impression of ruggedness. There is open access at the top of the case that facilitates ear phone use with the device in the case indeed the case may in some ways be better-suited to use with the iPod touch than an iPhone because its secure storage characteristics, as advantageous as that is in some ways, do not really lend themselves to really quick access when your phone is ringing.

U-Suit Premium for the iPhone 3Gs, Blackberry Bold
The other Uniea case we're reviewing today is not a new model per se, but has received a makeover from top to bottom.
Drawing on the U-Suit Premium’s established popularity, the refreshed model is available in three distinct, high-quality leather textures.
The original Napa leather construction featured on previous U-Suit Premium models has been revamped and is now dedicated to the Blackberry Bold version, while two new versions of the U-Suit Premium accommodate the iPhone 3G and 3Gs, featuring a unique Intrecciato
leather material, which has a simulated “woven” texture to it.
If you don't inhabit the haute couture fashion world, “Intrecciato” is probably a term you're not familiar with — an Italian verb that basically means, “to weave.” In this context it refers to the woven-like leather texture of the U-Suit. There is also a “signature” leather model, with a sleeker, more refined leather texture than the more “organic” Napa leather. All three leather types are accentuated by a the U-Suit's classy and elegant styling that harmonizes with wide range of fashion looks, from business to casual urban settings.
Additionally, the new U-Suit Premium is decidedly thinner and more streamlined than the original design, adding only a 2mm thickness to the device, and while the original U-Suit Premium featured a “slide-in” design for the iPhone and iPod Touch, the new model improves on this design by instead utilizing a shell-like construction that allows the user to quickly snap the case together around the device, covering the back and sides, with appropriately-placed apertures cut out for access to for the recharge connector, a circular portal for the iSight camera lens, and control buttons. This modality makes the U-Suit Premium both sturdier and more protective, in spite of its soft-appearing texture. Aside from the one-piece case module itself, a Uniea U-Shield screen protector is included with the package.
Uniea say their decision to revamp the U-Suit Premium was inspired by the launch of the iPhone 3Gs and the popularity of the Blackberry Bold. and a desire to deliver high fashion and high quality together with the protection and functionality Uniea cases are noted for.
The U-Suit Premium's signature characteristic is its Zen-like simplicity, which provides a segue to my principal negative criticism of this product, which is that it seems a bit hard to justify the $34.95 price tag, especially in comparison to, say, the U-Hip Pop, which seems like substantially more for five dollars less, although it's only an analogical comparo since they are quite different products. The quality of materials and standard of finish are first-rate, however.
