Canadian iPhone in June With $7 Data

Electronista reports:

The Canadian iPhone is set to be launched in June and will potentially have the least expensive data plan of any carrier announced to date, Electronista has heard. ...

....The sources claim that the iPhone will qualify for Rogers' $7 on-device browsing plan, which currently allows all phones offered by Rogers (excepting BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices) to access the web as much as they like through the carrier's officially-sanctioned browser.

Mobile Phones Cause Bad Behaviour In Kids - Report

The Register's James Sherwood reports:

If the kids are misbehaving then don’t blame their E number intake, because it could be your fault - or your missus' - for chatting too long on mobile phones during pregnancy.

That's the finding of a study into the behaviour of children up to age seven, born of 13,159 mums in Denmark in the late 1990s.....

Women who talked on a handset between two and three times each day during pregnancy were found to be 54 per cent more likely to give birth to a child with hyperactivity and emotional problems.

The report also concluded that tots aged seven or below are still at risk from developing such behavioural problems if you let them regularly talk into a mobile phone.

Refurbished iPhones May Contain Other Users’ Personal Data

iPhone Atlas reports:

iPhones sold as refurbished units may contain personal data from their previous owners that, with a little leg-work, is readily accessible by new owners. These data include email, images, contacts and more.

As previously noted, performing a “Restore” operation on the iPhone does not delete personal data from the device. Such information remain intact on the device after a restore, making the process unsuitable as a preparatory measure for iPhone resale or service. Apparently, Apple’s refurbishing procedure also does not delete the personal data.

3G iPhone Sure To Ring Up More Sales, Says Market Researcher

Computerworld's Gregg Keizer reports:

Nearly one in four potential iPhone buyers said that they have been putting off their purchase until Apple Inc. rolls out a next-generation model that supports the faster 3G data network, a market researcher said today.

According to Paul Carton, research director at ChangeWave Research, a quarter of the people polled in March who said they plan to buy an iPhone said that they are postponing the buy until Apple releases a new model (14%) or are waiting for 3G compatibility (11%).
