When Apple, Inc. released the iPhone 3G back in July, little did it know (most likely) that the device would have issues worldwide connecting to 3G networks, causing consumer frustration on a level we've rarely seen with any Apple product. Well, some consumers have apparently given up and they're moving back to the older, slower, original iPhone, which is causing a cottage industry to spring up around the older device.....

After so long in gestation, the 2008 election season has actually kind of snuck up on me. And what with the App store being released, I thought there would be a ton of politically-orientated apps out there. Incredibly, there are virtually none, and certainly none this cool. You can track polls, electoral vote estimates and so on based on live data, and organize it by state, candidate, percentage and all that. It even has historical data built-in so you can look at trends. Best of all, it's nonpartisan....

Apple iPhone Eclipses BlackBerry Curve as AT&T's Best-Selling Smartphone

After a substantial price reduction and the introduction of 3G technology, Apple's iPhone device has become best-selling handset at AT&T stores, eclipsing the BlackBerry Curve, according to new data released by Morgan Keegan analyst, Tavis McCourt.
The revamped iPhone 3G has "siphoned off sales from other smartphone vendors," including Research In Motion, whose BlackBerry Curve device had been AT&T's top seller for more than a year.

O'Reilly Launches iPhoneLive Conference and Opens Registration Build It; Launch It; Use It

Conference chairs Raven Zachary and Bill Dudney are creating a full day's schedule featuring keynotes from visionaries and leading thinkers in the mobile space, "Build" and "Launch" tracks of breakout sessions, and panel discussions exploring the iPhone ecosystem.
