How To Make Your iPhone Vibrate First, Ring Second
jkontherun says:
It's usually the simple solutions in life that make my day. Case in point with the following scenario: you want your iPhone to vibrate first upon receiving a call, and then play a ringtone if you haven't taken the call in 10 seconds or so. That's pretty common functionality in many smartphones and even on feature phones, but it's not available natively on the iPhone.

Opera Trades Yahoo For Google In Mobile Browser
InformationWeek's Antone Gonsalves reports:
Opera has swapped Yahoo for Google as the default search engine in the Opera mobile browsers, saying the deal is an extension of a longtime collaboration on mobile products.

Such a position is a huge advantage, since users would have to manually switch out the search engine for another company, something most people wouldn't bother with.

Apple Optimistic It Will Sell 10 Million iPhones By Year's End
The Register's Tony Smith reports:
Apple is "really confident" it will sell 10m iPhones by the end of the year, the company's COO, Tim Cook, said yesterday. Today, O2 announced the phone's launch in Ireland.
Cook was speaking at a Goldman Sachs investment conference and his comments came on the day Apple invited analysts to a meeting to be held next week at which it will unveil its iPhone applications roadmap and the handset's software development kit.
Interestingly, the event's invite also indicates Apple will be discussing its plans to pitch the iPhone at big business, a sign it reckons it can take the fight to Windows Mobile and the BlackBerry. Push email, anyone?

The Pros and Cons of the iPhone with O2 Ireland...
macinformation.com reports:
O2 have announced that the iPhone is to be available in Ireland from March 14th 2008. This is welcome news, and somewhat surprising that Ireland has received the iPhone ahead of larger European countries, such as Italy and Spain.
Looking at the tariffs and the offering for Irish customers, we are surprised by some of the specifics.....
