However, it's rare for Apple to actually completely miss a product deadline, without making an announcement to the fact. But it's happened.
When Steve Jobs was announcing the new iPod photo, U2 limited edition, and the wider availablity of the iTunes Music Store in Europe, he also announced that the popular downloading service would be available for Canadians "in November."
Whoops.
Peter Wilson, writing for the Vancouver Sun, notes that not only has Apple muffed the release, no one is talking about it. They're not going so far as to cover their ears and chant "La la la it does too exists la la la," but it's kinda close:
On Monday, at Apple in Toronto -- where company representative Simon Atkins said he had "no new information to provide" -- and at corporate headquarters in Cupertino, California, which did not respond to requests for comment, there were no loose lips.
He goes on to note that rumors state the service could be available as early as today, but as of right now, Canada isn't even listed as an option (though France is, which should please the Seperatists).
