Ambrosia Software's early game, Apeiron, has finally arrived on OS X. Shinier than a dilithium crystal, it packs plenty of new goodies to enhance the enthralling, energetic gameplay of the original.
Similar to the coin-op classic Centipede, Apeiron X is the arcade frenzy where you are dropped into the bug-eat-bug world of the mushroom patch. Now, you must fight for your survival against Cheech the Pentipede and his gang of crazy critters. A game for the entire family, Apeiron X is easy to learn, hard to master, and equally addictive as its arcade predecessor. Each wave has twists and turns such as rude toadstools, bulletproof fungi, and psychedelic 'shrooms.
More than a minor update, the new release boasts larger, swankier graphics to make even a cross-eyed chameleon ochre with envy. Play it fullscreen or in a window, then see how you stack up against exterminators worldwide with the built-in Internet high scores support.
Apeiron X costs $15, or $5 for registered users of the original Apeiron for Mac OS 9. Visit Ambrosia's website for more information.
