On most computers you can right-click (control-click on Macs with one-button mice) anywhere in the new window. This will display a contextual menu.
The contextual menu will allow several options. You can chose to set the image as your wallpaper. This is temporary as it does not save the file to your hard drive. The next time you reboot (or change accounts on multiple user machines) the wallpaper will be gone.
If you want to keep the image as your wallpaper through multiple logons or reboots, chose "Save" which will save a copy of the image file to your hard drive to the directory of your choice. We suggest "My Pictures" for PC users. If you use a Mac, you can save to your user's "Pictures" folder or to the "Desktop Pictures" folder inside the main "Library" folder.
Tip: if you are a neat freak, chose one of the sub-folders inside the "Desktop Pictures" folder on a Mac. On a PC, create a new "Wallpapers" folder inside your "My Pictures" folder for all of the images you want to use as backgrounds or wallpaper.
For Macs, use the System Preferences control panel to set your Desktop Picture. If you don't see the image you want, use the left side bar to navigate to the folder you saved to.
If you are a Tiger user, move the downloaded image(s) from the "Downloads" folder in the dock to the Pictures folder. Or do a Quick Look on the image file(s) and click on the "Add to iPhoto" Icon. When you open the Desktop and Screen Saver panel in System Preferences navigate to the iPhoto section on the left side of the Desktop tab.
For PC users, go to the directory you saved the image file to and right-click. Choose "Use as Wallpaper" and you are done.
Enjoy and check back often as we will be adding new free wallpapers.
