"We're very pleased to offer Accordance in a Universal Binary," explains David Lang, OakTree's Vice President of Development. "We used the Intel transition as a strategic opportunity to make sweeping improvements to the Accordance codebase, which has been in continuous development since the early nineties. Not only is Accordance now Intel-native, it's well-positioned to adapt to the future of Mac OS X."
In addition to Universal compatibility, new features of Accordance 8 include:
A new Library window for finding, organizing, and opening Bible texts, commentaries, and other study aids.
The ability to drag the mouse over an English word to highlight the original Greek or Hebrew word it translates.
The ability to search for literary connections between different books of the Bible, or even separate texts such as the Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Text display options for changing the window background, using custom colors, and adjusting the leading.
The ability to create and search custom workspaces.
Numerous improvements to user notes, color highlighting, 3D maps, grammatical searching, and more.
Accordance 8 can be purchased as a download for $49. The cost to upgrade from Accordance 7 is $39. The Accordance program can be used in conjunction with a free downloadable package of Bibles and study aids, or with larger packages delivered on CD.
