A New Year for Apple - New on MacOpinion
It's now 2008 and everyone is waiting breathlessly to hear what Steve Jobs will say in his Macworld Expo keynote. Will Apple introduce a sub-notebook? Will AppleTV be improved? Will iTunes offer movie rentals? Will iPhone be upgraded? Will something revolutionary and unexpected be announced.
Last year I was href="http://www.macopinion.com/index.php/site/more/ utterly_wrong/" target='_blank'>pretty off on my Macworld Expo predictions and I had thought I was being conservative in my guesses. This year I'm not even going to bother trying. I have no idea if Jobs will attempt to out-do last year's iPhone announcement (that seems impossible, but that's what Steve is good at) or if it'll just be what the rumors are predicting.
But what I'm more interested in at the moment is not the specifics of what Apple will announce at Macworld but the direction Apple will be taking long-term. Apple's got so much momentum right now. The world is their oyster. Apple could literally jump into any industry it wanted and have a huge impact. The Apple brand name as more power than it has ever had. Apple can revolutionize the world.
So what directions will Apple, or should Apple, take?
