ATI is pleased to share the news that Apple recommends Radeon 9800 Pro graphics from ATI Technologies Inc. as the optimal solution for Apple's new real-time motion graphics software, Motion.

ATI's graphics hardware is an important element in running this breakthrough software, as it is needed to render animations and designs interactively. To experience all that Motion has to offer, Apple has recommended that users configure their systems with the Radeon 9800 Pro or later, including the Radeon 9800 Pro Special Edition, Mobility Radeon 9700, the Radeon 9600XT and Radeon 9800XT.

"As graphics hardware becomes increasingly important in driving high-end professional applications like Motion, ATI continues to innovate with Apple to create the optimum experience for end-users," said Rick Bergman, senior vice president, desktop products, ATI. "The advanced OpenGL capabilities of our Mac graphics cards is key in delivering the interactive sophistication that is the hallmark for this new application."

ATI will be offering a time-limited rebate of $50 USD to all customers purchasing Motion and upgrading to the RADEON 9800 PRO for Apple's Power Mac G4 and the Radeon 9800 Pro Special Edition for the Power Mac G5. For more information about the rebate program, visit ATI's website.

The Radeon 9600 Pro will be the minimum graphics required for Power Mac G4 to experience the advanced capabilities of Motion. For those needing to update, the Radeon 9800 Pro is an ideal solution. For current Power Mac G5 users, the Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Special Edition with 256 MB of ultra fast DDR memory, 680 MHZ data rate and a core engine speed of 380 MHZ is the ultimate upgrade. The Radeon 9600XT will ship standard in Apple's high-end Power Mac G5 model and the Radeon 9800XT, featuring 256MB of super fast DDR memory, is available as a build-to-order option. Each of these high-end graphics accelerators enable a direct connection with Apple branded displays through dual output ADC and DVI connectors.
