Radon is small and fast, but seriously feature and function impaired, and I keep wonderong, "what's the point?"

A nice browser - very fast (with even more speed promised for future builds), lots of solid feature enhancements, and for me it's been completely reliable with no beta bugginess noted

If a web cam sounds like something you should have, or that could prove useful, Periscope has two things going for it: ease of set up and variety of distribution. However, at $40.00, it's priced too high for those wavering on whether there's a need or who would use such a program simply for fun.

The three main Gecko-based browsers out of Mozilla.org all released updates on Friday, so I downloaded them over the weekend to check them out. There are no major feature enhancements in Firefox 2.0.0.8 and SeaMonkey 1.1.5 - these are security and bugfix updates with some Leopard compatibility tweaks

Opera has released the the Opera 9.24 version of its browser, a security update and Leopard compatibility enhancer

This is now my favorite of the various browsers that share the Mozilla.org Gecko /Firefox browser engine. I love the interface - clean and uncluttered, and attractively, tastefully retro as well in traditional Netscape green. Did I mention that it's also fast? - Updated; Netscape Navigator 9.0 Final released

My favorite OS X Web browser just got even better, with more speed, and innovative new features, and a cleaner, more "Mac-like" appearance with improved conformance to Apple Human Interface Guidelines. It's great to see Opera determined to stay out there ahead of the browser pack

Mostly bugfixes

Skitch—an image capture/manipulation/sharing program from plasq—is certainly the type of program that could develop a rather large cult following. It's well designed, it's easy to use, and—most importantly—it's fun to play around with. This is important, because its toolset is...well, I won't say limited. Targeted is more accurate, in this instance.

Unhappily, one bad bug still unsquashed

When Adobe announced they'd be acquiring Macromedia, Flash is the one program about which I had no consternation. Adobe had to keep Flash on the market, and they had to get it right. Flash has become so valuable to media creators, so important to the web and other platforms, that to imagine content development without it is to imagine...well, there's no accurate analogy. It just has to be there. With no doubt Adobe would do the right thing, I'm still pleased to report they did...pretty much straight across the board. It's the kind of update we all wanted from Macromedia, but were beginning to doubt we'd ever get.
