PressIt Media Labelling Kit2456

Nearly a decade's worth of working in Photoshop helps me out, but it's not exactly the most efficient method for creating media labels. It's also not the cheapest. This is where PressIt comes into play. Comprising software that allows you to create labels for a multitude of media types, a collection of photos and artwork you can use to spice things up, templates for those who want to work in other programs, paper to get you started, and the hardware to align the stickers properly on your disk, it's pretty much everything most Mac OS X users would want.

Macromedia Studio MX 20041733

Most of the products contained herein have received a significant number of enhancements and new features, but perhaps most impressive is the evolution of the integration between them. Flash elements can be edited directly in Dreamweaver, native Fireworks PNG files can be imported into Flash with vectors, layers, etc. intact and editable, and Freehand illustrations can be previewed as SWF files from within Flash.

Puzzle Pro v21779

At some point, the AV Brothers got together and thought of everything they could think of to make images into Puzzles. Then they thought of 10 more things. Then they thought of 10 more things beyond that. The depth of this program is only exceeded by, well, I'm not sure. If you want or need a program that can do this kind of thing, Puzzle Pro v. 2 will satisfy your needs and then some.

Extensis pxl SmartScale1543

When I first received pxl SmartScale, I thought it was a fancy-dancy algorithm to create pixels when expanding the size of images. Boy was I wrong--it's much more than that. Some are likely to hail the advances of what pxl SmartScale can do while others just may not like it for the same reasons. Regardless how you may like the results, all Photoshop Users must appreciate what Extensis has created.

Wild FX Pro 31700

With computers, opening credits in movies are no longer used simply to introduce the actors, but also to set the entire mood of the movie to come. Just as the computer has made all of this easier on Hollywood, they've made it easier on the hobbyist as well. If Hollywood doesn't have to rely on good stories and decent acting to create their movies, why should you?

Macromedia Contribute 21534

Macromedia has driven the final nail into FrontPage's coffin. Actually, that's not entirely accurate. FrontPage was built in a coffin from which it never really clawed its way out to begin with. But if there's one thing I've learned about devoted Microsoft users, it's that they don't mind working with the undead.

Andromeda PhotoShop Plug-Ins3141

Unlike many PhotoShop plug-in developers, Andromeda writes individual programs that do one and only one thing. Purchase the one's you want, and ignore the ones you don't. The other advantage here is that you are not likely to purchase things you are not likely to use. On the other hand, you are self-restricting yourself from ever exploring other potential creative avenues.

Mystical Tint, Tone and Color2157

In its current state, my leanings towards the Auto FX user interface will never grow beyond tolerance. However, I'm more than happy to tolerate it if the ends justify means. Here, perhaps the first time, they do so with confidence. Getting 38 filters is impressive is enough, but the fact that so many of them are useful borders on amazing.

MonacoEZcolor2 and MonacoOPTIX2734

Coordinating colors between your monitor, scanner, printer and any other device is one of the more challenging aspects digital imagery. This is where Monaco Systems comes in as a color "administrator" for your image systems. Although it does add a few steps on your way to print your images, it works. Set it up, print, and admire. No wasted print paper, ink, time, or angst.

Review: Mask Pro 32421

Photoshop, the noun, is also used as a verb as in "Yeah, I Photoshoped his head onto the carrot...." Making the selection of the item one wishes to place somewhere else has long been one of the arts of Photoshop. Mask Pro provides a new collection tools and techniques for this art. While Mask Pro will not replace the selection/masking capabilities in Photoshop, it will significantly add to one's repertoire of tools.

Review: SilverFast SE & Ai8629

If you want to get everything you can out of your scanner and collect as much of the image's information before entering Photoshop, you would be hard pressed to find better software than SilverFast. The biggest challenge is working around some very scattered documentation.
