On Monday, April 23rd, Adobe made a double announcement regarding Creative Suite 6 (no surprise) and the Creative Cloud (also no surprise). There was no surprise because Adobe has been presenting us with sneak peaks of upcoming features for some time, and the Creative Cloud was informally announced back in October at the Adobe MAX in Los Angeles. Now that details are coming in, this cloud has a very silver lining.

Charles Moore Reviews easy card creator 2.3.01375

This cool little greeting card application lives up to its name

RealViz Stitcher v42569

When one wants to create a panorama or a QTVR (QuickTime Virtual Reality) from a collection of images, you'd be hard pressed to do better than you can do with Stitcher. Be forewarned, it has a unique (and somewhat hidden) user interface that differs from most other graphic programs. Oh, and do watch out for the price.

Design Intuition1620

Design Intuition is 2D and 3D CAD software (computer aided design) specifically oriented for woodworkers. That's not to say you can't design a boat or a car engine with it, but I would not recommend such an idea—at least, not yet. However, if you are building a table, chair, box, bed, or most anything for which you will be taking the printouts of your drawing out to the garage as a guide to create some sawdust with, it's a good place to start.

Mac FlipAlbum 3 Pro1535

I like the FlipAlbum metaphor. I think they are a very creative way to distribute images beyond the standard slide show. I am also delighted that eBook is looking at the Mac market for new customers. I hope they succeed in our world. Regrettably, they are not likely to do it with this product.

Charles Moore Reviews VueScan 7.6 Scanner Software4690

Scanner software for most flatbed and film scanners that 'just works'

Imposer1685

In a matter of minutes, not hours, I had printed a properly formatted booklet as a proof, and printed the final document across the network to the in-house color Xerox 2045 printer/copier. Imposer saved me time and headaches, and enabled our group to meet the tight deadline for the project. And saved the client money, too, since we charge an hourly rate.

PressIt Media Labelling Kit2144

Nearly a decade's worth of working in Photoshop helps me out, but it's not exactly the most efficient method for creating media labels. It's also not the cheapest. This is where PressIt comes into play. Comprising software that allows you to create labels for a multitude of media types, a collection of photos and artwork you can use to spice things up, templates for those who want to work in other programs, paper to get you started, and the hardware to align the stickers properly on your disk, it's pretty much everything most Mac OS X users would want.

Macromedia Studio MX 20041501

Most of the products contained herein have received a significant number of enhancements and new features, but perhaps most impressive is the evolution of the integration between them. Flash elements can be edited directly in Dreamweaver, native Fireworks PNG files can be imported into Flash with vectors, layers, etc. intact and editable, and Freehand illustrations can be previewed as SWF files from within Flash.

Puzzle Pro v21569

At some point, the AV Brothers got together and thought of everything they could think of to make images into Puzzles. Then they thought of 10 more things. Then they thought of 10 more things beyond that. The depth of this program is only exceeded by, well, I'm not sure. If you want or need a program that can do this kind of thing, Puzzle Pro v. 2 will satisfy your needs and then some.

Extensis pxl SmartScale1287

When I first received pxl SmartScale, I thought it was a fancy-dancy algorithm to create pixels when expanding the size of images. Boy was I wrong--it's much more than that. Some are likely to hail the advances of what pxl SmartScale can do while others just may not like it for the same reasons. Regardless how you may like the results, all Photoshop Users must appreciate what Extensis has created.

Wild FX Pro 31464

With computers, opening credits in movies are no longer used simply to introduce the actors, but also to set the entire mood of the movie to come. Just as the computer has made all of this easier on Hollywood, they've made it easier on the hobbyist as well. If Hollywood doesn't have to rely on good stories and decent acting to create their movies, why should you?
