Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced plans to hold its third Worldwide Invitational in Seoul, South Korea on May 19 and 20. The Blizzard Worldwide Invitationals are public events that allow the company to connect with gamers in a celebration of the Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft game universes and competitive Blizzard Entertainment gaming. This year's Blizzard Worldwide Invitational will be held at the Olympic Gymnastics and Fencing Stadiums in Seoul.

Kagi Media, producers of Mix It Like A Record, the enormously successful interactive mixing course authored by Grammy-winning engineer, mixer and producer Charles Dye, together with DUY, a leading developer of a broad range of plug-ins for Pro Tools, are sponsoring a contest in which three winners will receive a copy of the Mix It Like A Record mixing course and DUY's Global Bundle.

For those who have never been there and are wondering what it's all about (or who haven't been in a while and have forgotten), Gary provides an attendee's-eye-view.

In what's potentially the most troubling announcement from the Macworld Expo (the first being Apple's creepy attraction to John Mayer), Macworld.com is quoting Apple CEO Steve Jobs as having stated, "The Mac, iPod, appletv and iPhone. Only one of those is a computer. So we're changing the name. We're announcing today that we're dropping the 'Computer' from our name, and from this day forward we're going to be known as Apple, Inc." Conspiracy theorists, get busy!

iPhone. I guess that's all I really need to say here, but I'll say widescreen iPod and "breakthrough Internet communications device" anyway, because it's all the same thing!

iTunes sales are moving along just fine, no one cares about the Zune, and iTV is now AppleTV, and it's more useful than you thought it would be.

As always, Steve starts off touting Mac sales. No specific numbers, other than that now half of all Mac sales in the U.S. are to first time Macintosh buyers. He claims that 2007 will be a great yar for the Mac, but that's all he's going to say bout the Mac today?
