Adobe Creative Cloud I've had a chance to talk to Adobe folks about the switch to the CC and why they dropped the perpetual license. For the most part, Adobe claims they were caught off guard by how people gravitated to the CC. While they didn't provide actual numbers, they did claim the vast majority of people who upgraded did not purchase CS6. Rather, they bought into the CC. Adobe started preparing CS7, but at a certain point they realized that the cost of preparing two versions of the same software—one that would be updated and one that would not—was going to not be a wise use of their resources. Ergo, drop the less popular option.

Adobe Creative Cloud If you want a perpetual license for the Adobe Suite, go out and buy CS6. Yes it's a year old, but a year from now you will still have the same suite, no more payments, it will always be on your desktop. Today at Adobe MAX, Adobe announced that the Perpetual license, that which you buy and you are done, will no longer be sold. Now, if you want the latest from Adobe, you rent it. This is a mixed bag, truly.

Baldur’s Gate II: Thone of Bhaal to ship this week1529

Every story has an ending (except for Myst, of course), and the epic Baldur's Gate saga concludes in Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, the expansion pack to the best-selling role playing game (RPG) Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. MacPlay, a subsidiary of United Developers, LLC, announced today that it will bring the product to Mac OS X on November 21, 2003 under license from the Hasbro Properties Group.

Feral posts Championship Manager: Season 03-04 demo1296

Last Friday, Feral posted a demo of the forthcoming soccer sim, Championship Manager: Season 03-04. As they put it, "It's the usual half-season's worth of elation and frustration, which should keep you going until the full version is released in early December." It's good to know that whether it's world rules football or American rules football, we all suffer through the same ups and downs.

Crazy Golf4297

The best miniature golf game I ever played on the computer was Gnarly Golf on my Apple IIGS. I still occasionally play Gnarly Golf on my Apple IIGS. There was a Sierra game on there, too—I think it was called Zany Golf—but it wasn't as good. On the Mac, there was Gopher Golf (which was pretty lame) and Goofy Golf (which was pretty good). Now, we've got Crazy Golf, which immediately brings up one major point; people designing miniature golf games really have to start coming up with better titles.
