Trendsetter Software introduces Personal Hotline 8.0, a major upgrade of its widely used program which makes it the smoothest, most insightful technical analysis interface on any platform, PC or Macintosh. Features include:

• Scan/Sort Technical Screening: Personal Hotline scans and sorts for: symbol, security name, security type, sector, date updated, candle pattern and last saved. It ranks by: net change, % change, year-to-date high, low and range, most active, open interest, % change volume, average volume, volume/average volume, stochastics, RSI, TSI, ADX, ROC, MACD, CCI, TMI, %R, TRIX, true range, volatility, regression and statistical ranking. Control the view by clicking on the title of a column.
• New Compare Chart: This chart allows the client to view one to four separate securities on a percentage change basis over a selected period of time, a powerful graphic aid.
• DayTrader Histories and Report: New DayTrader module makes daily trading recommendations, and adds the ability to see six months of historical DayTrader performance and a separate DayTrader report. New Master Analysis Summaries. Hotline 8.0 adds new Top Ten Gainers, Losers and Volume Leaders summaries to the end of the already extensive Master Analysis report. The Trading Model makes and logs buy-sell recommendations.
• Windows: There is now no limit to the number of open charts (previous limit was 9 graphs, 16 windows.) In house tests generated 350 graphs with 20 mb of assigned RAM.
• New One-Click Buttons: For any chart, new one-click buttons control zoom out, zoom in, controlled zoom, list/edit and calculator. A calculator tabulates a number of useful facts for chart data: high, low, average volume, standard deviation, volatility and Fibonacci retracements.
• List/edit now puts latest data at the top of the list. A new popup menu allows the client to switch the chart view (e.g., change from arithmetic bar to semi-log or candle).
• Semi-Log Scaling: All analysis tools are now available for semi-log chart scaling.
• Style Changes: Double click on the main body of the chart and a dialog box appears offering custom choice for upper and lower scale, grid spacing, patterns, color choices and line thickness. Double click on any technical indicator (e.g. RSI) and a dialog box appears offering choice of smoothing, color, pattern, line width and, in some cases, calculation variable (e.g., simple, weighted, exponential). Analysis tools that depend on the identification of a significant high and low (i.e., Fibonacci, Gann, Speedlines, and Trident) offer the additional ability to change the date on which these two significant numbers were achieved.
• New Master Analysis Summaries include: top ten gainers, top ten losers and volume leaders.
• MarketView Charts, including advance-decline, TRIN and other studies, may now be customized through a single dialog box.
• New Black-Scholes Options Calculator is now easier to use and customizable. It includes pop-up selection of expiration month, days to expiration, theoretical value for each strike based on the one-year volatility of the underlying, target values based on theoretical or implied volatility, delta, gamma, theta, price to double and probability, based on log normal distribution, that the to-double and/or target price will be achieved. The pop-up displaying the month automatically adjusts the expiration date to the third Friday of the month ñ no more digging through your calendar for the correct date!
• Enhanced Functionality for: block delete, drag and drop list ordering, find ticker symbol command (want to find Yahoo?, just touch "Y"), find chart command, window size preference (Hotline 8.0 remembers), multiple chart layout, list size, candle pattern analysis, enhanced date formatting, and more than 30 additional pages of new documentation. The manual may be downloaded from the web in Adobe Acrobat format.
• New Tests. Hotline 8.0 expands the number of tests by 40%, including alert setups.
• Data Source. Personal Hotline 8.0 downloads stock, options, index and futures prices from Dial Data using Trendsetter's Net Access Internet utility.

New clients may purchase a permanent license for $699, or a monthly service plan for $75 per month. The monthly service plan includes a month by month license, all updates, ultra access data service ($40 value), a CD containing historical data on thousands of securities, user guide and technical support. Upgrade for registered clients is just $129.

Personal Hotline 8.0 requires System 7.0 or later (Net Access requires System 7.5 or later), and will work with virtually any Mac from a 12 year old Mac II to today's G4's.
