Mozilla 1.6a Web Browser

[OS X]

Despite the fact that there were strong rumors a few months ago that version 1.4 would be the last version of Mozilla's traditional browser/email/html Composer/chat suite application, a version 1.5 final is out and here comes version 1.6.

New in this version:
• One of the most requested Mozilla Mail features, optional separate Recipient and Sender columns in thread pane, has been implemented.
• Backend support for Navigator windows to be layered or anchored "always in front" or "always in back" has been added. You can get the UI extension Window Layers from mozdev.org to try the feature (not working for Linux).
• One step closer to the kitchen sink, about:about has been implemented. Typing about:about in the address field will give the user a nice list of available about:s.
• Another massively requested MailNews feature, a preference for placing the user's signature above the quoted text, has been added.
• The View Source window now has reload functionality.
• "Remove from server after x days" has been implemented for POP3 mail accounts.
• vCard support has been added to Mozilla Mail.

System requirements:
• Mac OS X 10.0 or higher

Location X Location Manager

[OS X]

Location X 2.0 provides the functionality found in Mac OS 9's Location Manager utility to Mac OS X users. The update offers a new user interface, a new security model to reduce the number of times you are required to enter your password, enhanced Entourage support, a plug-in for changing the system default SMTP server and default web home page, and other enhancements. Location X is $20 for Mac OS X 10.2 and up.

Location X brings the popular Location Manager functionality from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X. Location X allows you to, with a single click, change network, time zone, email settings and more all at once.

Macintosh portable users who travel between different locations often have to reconfigure their Macs for use at home, school, the office, the hotel, the east coast office, China (you get the picture). Configuring Location X to do this for you is easy using its intuitive and elegant Aqua interface. Now using your laptop in different places is a snap.

Location X was designed to allow third parties to develop plug-ins that will allow you to change even more settings than those provided in the Location X package. Location X includes built in plug-ins that let you change your network configuration, Apple Mail settings, time zone, Entourage settings, sound volume, default printer, QuickTime connection speed, Energy Saver settings, Internet preferences, and run AppleScripts and shell scripts. Check back frequently for new plug-ins!

New in Location X 2.0:
New User Interface
Managing your locations is now easier than ever. The location detail drawer pops out below your location list and allows you to quickly view and edit your location settings.

Reorder or Multiply Your Options
Now you can choose the order of your location options! Drag the options around in the location list to specify the order in which your settings are changed. You can even have multiple instances of each option - just choose the option name from the "Add Option" menu.

Simplify Your Security
Getting tired of entering your password• You can authorize each Location X plug-in in the Security pane of the preferences window and never be asked for your password again.

New Plug-ins
Location X 2.0 includes two new plug-ins. The Energy Saver plug-in allows you to change your Energy Saver preferences. The Internet plug-in allows you to change your web browser's home page or your default SMTP server, perfect for changing Eudora's outgoing mail server settings. Also included is a greatly improved Entourage plug-in, allowing you to switch details of your SMTP server and even change which schedules are enabled.

Location X is $20.00 demoware

Garbage Man 1.0 Reports Trash Size, Number Of Files, Empties Trash

Garbage Man is a small application the enhances Mac OS X's Trash. In previous Mac operating systems (Mac OS 9) emptying the trash would yield a dialog box telling me how many items and how much data was stored in the trash. Double-clicking this program with tell you how many files are in your trash and how much space they take up. It will also give you the option of emptying the trash.

New in this version:
• Trash Size Count
• Trash File Count
• Ability to empty trash
