The Recording Industry Association of America has decided to talk to fileswappers before they sue them, according to the Washington Post. That's the good news.
The bad news is that 'fessing up and saying you won't do it any more isn't enough, but the kind folks at the RIAA will give you a chance to pay a cash settlement and argue your case. A college student who found herself named in an RIAA lawsuit was contacted and eventually allowed to settle out of court for $2,500.She says she won't be buying any more CDs.
