Apple recently put up a Web page that very conveniently lists new products that have just been released for Macs. Virtually all of it is software, of course, and there are also links to free downloads and other nifty items. First the word as we received it from Apple, and then a brief comment: On a separate note, we just published the second issue of New Arrivals with great information on brand new products, including Macromedia Studio MX 2004, Elibrium Business Cards, Tech4Learning MediaBlender 2.5, Enfocus PitStop Professional 6, Red Rock Software DeltaGraph 5, SoftPress Freeway Express 3.5, MacPlay No One Lives Forever 2, and much more. Be sure to check out the latest issue of New Arrivals at the following URL: Comments: This is a great service from Apple. We can think of no better way to get all the facts on the latest OS X apps, complete with links for purchasing or downloading. Our only gripe is that no prices are given until you go another layer or two down into the site. This seems to be fairly common practice these days, certainly at Apple, where you have to press the "Buy Now" button after reading all about a product just to learn what it actually costs. There must be some kind of marketing conventional wisdom behind this tactic, but we would greatly prefer to see an item's price as soon as we see the item. How about it?
