It appears that the Beast of Redmond has eaten Connectix. Whether this is good or bad depends on your perspective. Virtual PC users will from here on out be completely at the mercy of Microsoft, however. Well, so what? Microsoft loves to make good products for the Mac platform, don't they? And why wouldn't they continue to develop a flagship product that lets Mac users coexist with PCs? There's no reason to think they might actually kill the product, is there? Why would they do that? No one at Microsoft has any reason to be mad at Apple, do they? We're all in this together, right?!? Reading between the lines at at Gene Steinberg's Mac Night Owl, we think we detect a tiny, uncharacteristic hint, just a wee one mind you, of something resembling a chill. Maybe it's the "whether that company will continue to exist independently wasn't immediately disclosed" part. Our man Gene is nothing if not a friend to all who walk the earth under God's blue sky. If he sounds like he's leaving something out, we pay attention. Go, Apple! Go, Keynote & Safari! Where is AppleWorks Pro? Get a move on, Cupertino. (Tick, tock, tick, tock ... )
