Prosoft Engineering announces the release of Netware for Mac OS X - IP Edition v1.1, allowing Apple's OS X operating system to connect to a Novell IP-based network. This release works with NetWare SLPDA.nlm.

"This is a major milestone for Prosoft's NetWare for Mac OS X - IP Edition. It includes significant convenience advancements that enhance the NetWare connectivity experience across the board," states Connie Worthington, Prosoft's VP of product development. "NetWare For Mac OS X - IP Edition is the next evolutionary step in Mac OS."

With this new release, Netware for Mac OS X - IP Edition supports Directory Agents and Scopes and is more compatible to share files with Windows clients. Other enhancements include stability and memory improvements.

NetWare Client For Mac OS X - IP Edition allows users to authenticate and use NetWare natively using the IP protocol, eliminating the need to propagate AppleTalk on the local area network. Client machines need only the IP protocol to access the Internet and local network services. Features include:

Native NCP file handling NDS browsing for finding and authenticating to NetWare servers Support for NSS volumes provides for file sizes of up to 8-terabytes, and allows billions of volumes and directories
