That network printing feature will be much appreciated. But what about Mail? "Coolest thing we've added" is "Junk Mail," a technology that filters your spam. And it can be taught to work even better. Jobs demos online QuickTime video with Mail, then shows how Junk Mail works. The "training mode" allows you to teach Junk Mail how to recognize even very sophisitcated email spam. And the demos continue: Address Book has been boosted to a systemwide database for all users that developers can now truly depend on to produce useful applications. Jobs runs through a complex demo that includes how Bluetooth can be used to automatically dial Bluetooth-enabled cell phones/ iChat is built into Jaguar, and Rendezvous works with it to build special buddy lists. Jobs uses this to instant-message with Fred Anderson and pick a place to eat dinner... iChat features drag-and-drop file transfer, too. Jobs summarizes Jaguar's new features. Jaguar will be on the shelves August 24 and will cost $129.95. If you buy a new Mac between now and then, the update will only cost 19 bucks. iTools: Subscriber numbers have doubled in the last year. But what's different? After September 30, iTools will be replaced by .Mac will include all forms of email, iDisk (now 100MB), password protection, Web hosting, backup software, anti-virus software, and more. This will cost $99 per year, available today, but you can get it for $49 initially. [Bye-bye free services!] iCal: a new integrated calendar application that highlights conflicts, among other things. The calendars can be shared over the Internet via .Mac and feature built-in subscription capability with user-configured updating and other customization. iCal will be a free download.
