Color It! works with most popular file formats, including GIF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PICT, PostScript, Photoshop, PhotoCD and more, offers 16 levels of undo, and supports pressure-sensitive tablets and Photoshop-compatible plug-ins for scanners, digital cameras and third-party filters. Color it makes it easy to retouch, crop, add type, drop shadows, multi-color gradients and otherwise modify images , or create new ones. Color It! also offers features not usually found in an such an inexpensive program: CMYK four-color separations; Levels, Curves, and Unsharp Masking; brush tools to apply convolution filter effects or to paint with patterns and textures; and even a fully-customizable tool palette that lets you create and save your own tool sets with individual settings. Catalog your image files for quicker browsing and retrieval, or create and edit web image maps and animated GIF files, all without leaving the program. Despite its power and flexibility, Color It! runs in as little as 3 megabytes of RAM. Color It! will do almost anything I would ever do in Photoshop, and considerably more besides, and it does it at little more than the price of average shareware. It launches on my not exactly bleeding edge 233 MHz PowerBook in less than four seconds, Great when all I want to do is quickly convert an image to another file format or clear clean up a downloaded JPEG. A whole lot better than twiddling my thumbs while ponderous Photoshop lumbers to life. And if you do need a bit more power and Color It! isn't quite up to your requirements, Enhance is, well, an enhanced version of Color It! aimed at graphic designers, offering many of the features of Color It! plus multiple layers capability with full opacity control, Ruler and Angle tools, Replace Color filter, automatic HTML image tag generation, web browser preview, color selectors for Extrude and Drop Shadow effects, and more. Color It! 4.0 is only 2.9 MB for the application (3.4 MB for the entire installation) and will run in 2,048k of memory (both cited memory partitions are with Virtual Memory on).
