CMS Launches Mac Support with Pocket and Credit Card-Sized Storage After months of development and testing, CMS Peripherals announced today the expansion of their entire line of USB ABS (Automatic Backup Systems) and new Fire & Forget Type II PC-Card hard disk drives (HDDs) to include support for Macintosh users. Incredibly easy to use, these pocket and credit card-sized solutions provide Mac notebook and desktop users unprecedented backup and removable storage capacity ranging from 2 to 30 gigabytes (GB). The USB ABS delivers a stable, high data throughput for backup, additional storage and recovery of files. Upon connection, the ABS' patent-pending `automatic launcher' technology immediately initiates a complete or incremental backup of your HDD, storing all data in native file format without requiring the user to input a single software command. Available in 2GB and 5GB (Fire & Forget), and 6GB, 10GB, 20GB, and 30GB (USB ABS) capacities, users can backup or store files and applications without taking up additional drive space on their computers. Plugged into a host system, all files, contacts, applications, etc. are accessible from the ABS, which appears as an additional drive letter, without requiring the installation of software or the transfer of files to the system. In addition to providing Macintosh PowerBook users with a storage solution they can fit in their wallet, the Fire & Forget drive weighs less than two ounces and needs only a single PC-Card slot to operate. At this week's MacWorld Expo (Booth No. 1854), Lexmark is demonstrating its new driver compatibility using several of its recently announced color, monochrome and multifunction printers, including the Lexmark C720 color laser printer, the Lexmark T522 and T622 monochrome laser printers and its X522 Series MFP.
