Macworld Expo Digital Art Gallery Artists using Apple Computers for their virtual canvas and brush now have a refuge. The Macintosh artist mailing list known as the Macworld Expo Gallery Group, has open virtual tables for art discussion. If you're a fine or graphic artist using a Mac, subscribe at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/macworldexpo_gallery and join the fun. Most of the 30 international Macworld Digital Art Gallery winners are subscribers for art discussion. For those unfamiliar with mailing lists: they are free and can provide timely dicussion on a specific subject via email. 
Macworld Expo Digital Art Gallery is being held as a Macworld Expo 4th annual event July 18-20 at Macworld NYC. All Macintosh Artists internationally have been encouraged to participate. Entries have been accepted and judged for the Macworld Expo Digital Art Gallery Contest. Deadline to enter was June 1, 2001. Over 900 works were submitted for judging this year. This year 30 winners were selected and will be shown, elegantly framed and presented inside Javits Center, Booth 163. Most of the 900 entries are displayed online at http://digitalart.users1.50megs.com/ An independent panel of judges from the digital art community chose 30 images from "Student" and "Non-Student" categories. The winning images will premiere at Macworld Expo in New York City at the Jacob Javits Convention Center July 17-20 2001 and will also travel across the country as an exhibition to art galleries and universities and to Macworld Expo, San Francisco. The Grand Prize winner receives, along with hardware and software, a trip to Macworld Expo in New York or San Francisco with airfare, hotel, conference and "Super Pass". Digital art and graphic related prizes from the contest's many sponsors are also distributed to the 30 winning artists. The contest is supported by Wacom, Corel, Iomega and Xerox.
