IDG World Expo announced today that registration numbers are up for this summer's Macworld Conference & Expo, scheduled for July 17 - 20, 2001 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. More than 60,000 Mac enthusiasts are expected to attend the upcoming Macworld, with the conference program showing a 25% increase over last summer's event. Macworld Conference & Expo has seen a steady increase of pre-registered attendees since the first week of online registration, which broke the record for total pre-registered exhibits-only attendees in a one-week period. Compared to last year's New York event, registration for the Macworld conference program is soaring. With less than four weeks remaining until the event, the total number of pre-registered conference attendees is up more than 25%. Overall, attendee registration for Macworld is up 14%. Macworld conference attendees will also have the opportunity to attend Birds of a Feather meetings for the first time this year. Open to all Macworld Pro and Users Conference attendees, these meetings will provide conference attendees with the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded Mac users. ``Here is more proof that the Mac community is the most loyal audience in the industry, '' said Rob Scheschareg, vice president of events, IDG World Expo. ``With Macworld's exclusive OS X educational content and new programs for attendees to network with their peers, Mac enthusiasts are still jumping at the chance to come to Macworld Conference & Expo. While other shows struggle with dwindling attendance numbers, this continues to be the must-attend event for all Mac users and those considering Mac products and services for the first time.''
