More TiBook/iBook
Pros and Cons

Mac writer Charles Haddad has joined the "which Apple
portable to buy" debate in his latest Byte of the Apple
column for Business
Week Online. Unfortunately, his essay straddles the
fence and you'll have to decide for yourself -- just as
well, too!
We have spotted a few crucial areas in the discussion,
however. The TiBook's larger screen is what graphic
designers need, although having no built-in CD burner is an
incongruity (if you buy a new PowerBook G4 from Apple now,
they're bundled with a FireWire CD-R drive). Haddad also
says the TiBook screen "picks up crud from the keyboard" and
that he found the keyboard "uncomfortable to use."
And the iBook? Haddad loves using it and says it's
perfect for writers. He wishes it had a PC card slot and
says it definitely feels slower than the G4 TiBook. It also
costs a thousand bucks less. . .
