Yuji Tai of Japan Apple Watch reports that Apple's influence is vey much evident at the Tokyo Motor Show 1999. Yuji notes that Honda is displaying prototypes of its "retro-styled" scooter, Julio, in blue and orange colors that are dead-ringers for the iBook's blueberry and tangerine (aling with a pink one).

According to Yuji Tai, lots of iMacs are being used by exhibitors to display information about their cars and component products, including a display with about 10 iMacs playing historic info on early models made by nearly all of Japan's automobile manufacturers.

Yuji also reports that one of the "show ladies" at the Daimler-Chrysler booth was using an orange iBook as a prop for her presentation, although she was not actually using it. He notes that the company making the effort to finmd a new iBook as a stage prop indicates that Apple's colorful portable is going to be a bigger fashion item than he imagined.
