June 18, 1999

By Apple Game Reviews/News Editor Kirk Hiner

How many times has it happened? You're a native of England who was raised in Spain but now lives in Germany, and all you want to do is go to Atlantis. Well, thanks to Dice Computer Games and Barracuda(TM) (the company, not the song by Hart), your chance has finally arrived. The companies have announced that they'll be distributing their adventure title "Timelapse" in over a dozen European countries. The press release follows, but be sure to check out the Applelinks review as well.

ENCINITAS, CA (June 17, 1999) Barracuda(TM) a Southern California-based global entertainment software sales and marketing consulting firm, announced that it has signed an exclusive three-year agreement with Dice Computer Games to distribute the adventure game Timelapse(R) in Europe in multiple localized languages including English, French, and German. Dice Computer Games is scheduled to launch Timelapse in June in over a dozen countries throughout Europe including France, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Greece, and Belgium.

"Dice Computer Games has had a very strong track record of success with several of their branded titles recently reaching the #1 selling position on various budget charts in many European countries," said Michael Kaye, president of Barracuda. "We're very pleased to have Dice Computer Games behind the European launch of Timelapse and we're optimistic it will do quite well throughout many territories in Europe."

"We've found that Timelapse has a universal appeal to the mass market gamer that is interested in graphically-rich, story-driven, puzzle-based adventures like Myst and Riven," added Mike Yuen, vice president of Barracuda. "European consumers should find Timelapse equally interesting, and with Dice Computer Games' broad distribution reach into non-traditional retail outlets such as supermarkets and department stores, Timelapse should have fantastic exposure to the casual gaming audience."

Published by Hammerhead Entertainment(TM) (a division of Barracuda), Timelapse is an adventure game that explores the alien link between four ancient civilizationsEgyptian, Mayan, Anasazi, Easter Island and the fabled sunken lost city of Atlantis.
